Priyali Chougule
Priyali is an Analyst at Accenture. You can read her story here.
Our graduate recruitment activities are a good example of our commitment to recruiting the best female as well as male talent on a practical level. We ensure that women are represented at all of our campus events. We ensure that women are present at interviews, and we try to allocate female buddies to those at second round interviews. Where appropriate we advertise in women targeted career publications and sponsor various women’s clubs and societies across the country’s universities. Other activities include Women in Business events, female specific marketing collateral/direct mail activities and female profiles on our website.

Attracting women to work in a largely technical environment is an industry-wide challenge and we are looking at ways to encourage females at an early stage to consider technology as a viable career option. This involves activities at schools such as running technology workshops and presentations at all girls schools.

We are consistently voted as one of the leading graduate employers in “the Times Top 100 Graduate Employers”, and there is a surprisingly close-knit feel to working at Accenture. From the day our graduates start, they begin to build informal networks that provide help and support throughout their career. Graduates control their own development and promotion is based entirely on the skills people acquire and the contribution they make, whilst flexible working programmes allow them to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Accenture offers great opportunities for graduates, partly because of the work the company does, and partly because learning and personal development are so high on our agenda.

Whether you know exactly what you’re looking for - or would like to explore all the options available - our graduate programme offers the flexibility and exposure to get the most out of your skills.

WHERE WILL I FIT IN?

Most of our graduates join our Analyst Consulting Group and learn core consulting skills across a variety of projects for clients in all sectors, making it a great place to build the foundations of your consulting career. You will learn to apply management consulting, systems integration and technology to gain a commercial advantage. So you could find yourself preparing business proposals, redesigning business processes, preparing people for change, designing applications and implementing new technologies. You’ll also learn how to make use of and deploy the world’s leading software packages, such as SAP and Oracle.

There are also opportunities to work in a particular area. In our Systems Integration & Technology Consulting Group, you could be part of a team delivering world class technical solutions, working on projects involving technical development and architecture or specialising in a particular area such as JAVA programming. Alternatively, in our Management Consulting Group, you could be part of our Strategy Consulting team - focusing your energies on bringing about organisational change and business transformation for our clients. And finally, we have some opportunities in our Outsourcing function, where graduates will work in small, close-knit teams on longer-term assignments to manage large-scale outsourcing projects.

Accenture Technology Solutions offers an alternative technology-focused career option for technologists who don’t necessarily want to be consultants, and would prefer to build and maintain deep technical skills.
