As the IT profession is very broad, there are many different options to consider when choosing a career in IT.

The Technical Marketing job description:

  • Explains what the IT Company can do for a prospective client and assembles sales bids for work.
  • Assists with the introduction of new technologies and new suppliers, works closely with the supplier management, product and marketing teams.
  • Conducts research for business cases and market requirements for new and upgraded models and products.
  • Assists with the creation of presentations, documentation and other collateral models and products.
  • Coordinates product documentation preparation and implementation.
  • Exhibits knowledge of company branding, messaging, technical writing, strategic product/marketing directives, direct mail campaigns, budgets and research


Skills a Technical Marketer may have are
:

  • Good hardware and software skills, good trouble shooting skills, documentation and networking understanding – this makes them more credible.
  • Technically aware and a good salesman.
  • Programming skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate at a highly technical level.
  • Understanding of the designs and procedures for highly technical electronic instruments.
  • Excellent communication skills as well as strong presentations skills.
