Technology at Merrill Lynch
For Merrill Lynch technologists the pace is fast and the focus is on execution. Technologists work in two principal arenas. Infrastructure covers the firm’s core networks, data centres and end-user services, which underpin our corporate and business platforms, and connect our employees, clients, suppliers and vendors together. Applications development involves designing, developing and deploying technology applications that power and improve our business. You will be based either in London, Geneva or at our new EMEA Regional Support Centre in Camberley.
Full Time Programme
Induction and training at ML starts with an intensive programme in New York. Throughout July and August, you will gain an in-depth introduction to the firm, its culture and global reach, along with other newly hired analysts from around the world. The training will include full instruction on all the relevant tools, techniques and working practices. You will also receive grounding in your chosen business area as you develop your professional skills and teamwork capabilities.
Summer Internship Programme
The best opportunity to learn about working life at Merrill Lynch is to experience it first hand through our 9-week summer programme. Aimed at students in their penultimate year, the programme runs from June to the end of August. Fully supported by structured training, you’ll also be assigned a mentor who will help you make the most of the experience.
Industrial Placement
We offer 12-month industrial placements within Global Technology Infrastructure. These opportunities are open to students who wish to experience a year in industry between their penultimate and final year of study. The placement starts in July with a training programme. After this, you’ll be assigned to a team where you’ll take on genuine responsibilities and find out what it really means to work with technology at a global investment bank. You will be based in London or Camberley.
Insight Programme
The Merrill Lynch Challenge offers students graduating in 2010 the chance to win a place on our week-long programme, held twice a year in March and June. Participants will gain an insight into different divisions through business games, skills sessions and presentations that test analytical ability, creativity and teamwork. |
