UBS Diversity Information

UBS is unwaveringly committed to, and actively works to foster, an inclusive corporate culture.  Diversity is an important ingredient to being able to reach out to our clients in a meaningful way. It is only by having outstanding talent with diverse perspectives that we can address our clients’ needs.

At UBS, we believe that a workforce of individuals from widely different backgrounds, cultures and life experiences is indispensable in today’s global business environment. Gender, ethnic and age Diversity allows for first-hand understanding of regional markets and sensitivity to local customs. But it is not just the visible differences that allow for this competitive advantage. It is also the more subtle diversity — of background, experience and thought — that provides the perspective from which our employees anticipate needs and generate unique solutions for our increasingly diverse client base worldwide.

Achieving this world-class workforce of diverse, high-talent individuals demands an open minded and respectful working culture, merit-based career advancement, and a sense of individual contribution and self-worth. UBS has made great strides in all these arenas.

We have systematically integrated diversity into our key management processes throughout the employee lifecycle:

Diversity is an integral part of our recruiting efforts – campus and professional recruiting. We expect our hiring managers and our partner executive search firms to ensure that candidates from diverse backgrounds are considered and that we hire the very best talent in the market.

Diversity is embedded in our talent development programs - from graduate to senior management level. In addition, we have implemented a computer based training for diversity that is accessible to all of our employees globally.

Diversity has been integrated into our annual performance management, promotion and succession planning processes. Diversity is a core competency against which all our managers are evaluated.

Diversity is key to UBS’s success.
