Flexible Working Breakfast Briefing
We would like to extend a big thank you to all 40 of you who came along to the 'Flexible Working' breakfast briefing that we co-hosted with Kingsley Napley on Thursday 10th September 2009.
The morning started with an opportunity for everyone to network over tea and coffee and breakfast. Maggie Berry, Director of womenintechnology, opened the morning's proceedings with a short welcome before Adrian Crawford, partner in the employment practice gave a welcome on behalf of Kingsley Napley and a brief introduction to the topic of flexible working. Jennifer Bartlett and Martin Pratt, solicitors in the Employment Law team at Kingsley Napley presented the morning's briefing.
Martin and Jennifer discussed what flexible working and associated practices can do for your business and whether the current economic climate should have any effect on your policies. They also shared practical advice and tips on how to avoid common pitfalls and how to make the policies work for you. The business case, the right to request flexible working, the types of flexible working available as well as statutory procedures and handling a request for flexible working were all covered.
