Returning from Maternity Leave and Sex Discrimination
We would like to extend a big thank you to everyone that came along to the 'Returning from Maternity Leave and Sex Discrimination' breakfast briefing that we co-hosted with Kingsley Napley on Tuesday 28th April 2009.
The morning started with an opportunity for everyone to network over tea and coffee. Then Maggie Berry, Director of womenintechnology, opened the morning's proceedings with a short welcome before passing over to Jennifer Bartlett, Solicitor at Kingsley Napley, who presented 'Returning from Maternity Leave and Sex Discrimination' .
Jennifer discussed the issues about returning to work after maternity leave including tricky issues relating to employees on or returning from maternity leave and redundancy including selection, consultation and rights to alternative roles. Jennifer also talked through recent legislative changes, government guidelines and employees' rights.
