Synopsis
Templar Executives will run a three hour evening training session aimed at raising general Cyber Security awareness. This free session will be focused on lifting the awareness levels of Cyber Security among professionals working in technology jobs and industries. The aim is to make people more ‘cyber aware’ in their jobs, equipping them with knowledge which is increasingly in demand from employers, and increasing their ability to contribute more greatly to the cyber security agenda of the organisations they work for.
The session will address:
Outlining what we mean by the term Cyber Security and the current context, including the political agenda; why cyber security is so important and why it is a cross-cutting issue;
Unpacking the terms used associated with Cyber Security, to facilitate better understanding and de-mystify any jargon;
- Threat and Situational Awareness
Outlining the threats posed from malicious and non-malicious insiders through to corporate and state-sponsored attacks; many real-world examples will be used to illustrate to attendees the threats and risks their organisations could be facing;
- Policy and legislative context in the UK
Discussing legal rights and responsibilities associated with Cyber Security, with a focus on the Data Protection Act 1998
Exploring key roles for discharging a successful cyber security policy and what is expected of individuals
- Current solutions in the market
Highlighting what organisations can do to better protect themselves.
Workshop Outcomes
Attendees will learn:
- A solid foundation of understanding cyber security issues and threats;
- An ability to speak with some authority on the matter in your organisation;
- A better understanding of your rights and responsibilities regarding cyber security and data protection;
- Familiarisation with the general risks posed to your organisation and potential solutions
