Get SET for Self-Employment

This one day session is facilitated by the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (UKRC) and is designed to maximise women’s success in setting up a SET consultancy, with a forum for women to:

  • get inspiration from real-life success stories
  • try practical exercises to raise awareness of their motivation to go for self-employment, and assess whether it is right for them
  • develop a personal action plan on what to do next

 lifestyle and work life balance implications, and a skills audit of saleable & business skills

Gaining the confidence to take a chance, and knowing that the business idea is viable
14:10    How to generate leads, looking at professional networks, raising visibility, creating an
 elevator speech, and uncovering sources of work

Considering the risks of NOT doing it, or delaying until a later time.  Visualising success,
 followed by completing a personal action plan
