International MINTiFF Conference

Don’t think it’s only Entertainment: STEM and Equal Opportunities in TV Drama Format

Dates: Monday 6th - Wednesday 8th September 2010
Location: Dachgartenfoyer ICC Berlin, Germany
Cost: Tickets are available for 40 EURO (day ticket) or 80 EURO (3 days).

Refreshments and lunch (September 7th) are included in the ticket price.
 
The International Conference aims to:
  • present central research results relating to STEM and Equal Opportunities in TV Drama-Formats to a larger public
  • discuss successful international examples for STEM and Equal Opportunities in TV Drama Formats with TV- and filmmakers
  • present methods developed in foreign countries and by the MINTiFF project that foster STEM-Entertainment-Education-Quality
  • pursue the question to what extent (STEM-) entertainment-education-strategies comply with the cultural and educational mandate of public broadcasters, and whether they offer a chance to emphasize the public value of TV Drama-Formats
  • reveal the methods that – from the viewpoint of programming practice – are required to reach younger audiences and to bring the priorities of programming practice into line with social educational requirements
  • show which challenges and tasks arise for science organizations, the educational system and funding programs
