Being yourself is something we all take for granted, but what if being yourself is something you can't do in the work environment; what if you can't fully engage with your peers and managers because you're concerned about how you might be perceived?
These issues may be faced by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) employees. Some people may feel that sexuality has no place at work, but whether wearing a wedding ring or putting a photo of a loved one on a desk, sexuality permeates all areas of social life including the workplace. It takes a tremendous amount of energy not to be yourself at work.
This event, presented by Claudia Woody, Managing Director at IBM, aims to bring new perspectives, challenge misconceptions, and discuss why having an environment where people feel free to be open and honest about their individuality leads to higher productivity at work - fundamental to our competitive success.
Although IT focussed, members of other diversity networks and the Interbank Pride network are very welcome to attend this event.
Please email Stephanie Reid Stephanie.Reid@ubs.com with your name and organisation in advance to register for this event.
