2012 Cisco everywoman in Technology Awards ceremony and luncheon, Thursday 29th March at the Savoy Hotel, London

At womenintechnology.co.uk we're always looking for ways to increase the number of women who are working and achieving in the UK's IT profession.

The 2012 Cisco everywoman in Technology Awards seek to recognise and celebrate the success of women working in this fast-growth sector, encouraging more women into the industry and ultimately providing a pipeline of talent and future industry leaders.

We're also very strong believers in celebrating the wealth of female talent that already exists in the industry which is why we  were very excited to be a part of the everywoman in Technology Awards for the second year running!

The 2012 Cisco everywoman in Technology Awards took place at The Savoy in London on Thursday, 29 March and were a great success - shining the light on some of the most inspirational women in UK technology at the moment. The ceremony was attended by key figures and inflluential women in the technology industry.

The ceremony began with a welcome speech from everywoman co-founders Karen Gill MBE and Maxine Benson MBE, shortly followed by a keynote address from Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills and President of the Board of Trade, who showed his suppport for the recognition of women working in the technology sector.

After a luncheon, the awards compere Suzi Perry, former presenter on Channel 5's The Gadget Show took to the stage to introduce the afternoon's awards presentation.

The event was a huge success and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. The winners and finalists are inspiring role models who will be great ambassadors for the profession and the Awards Programme going forward.

About everywoman

Founded in September 1999 by Karen Gill and Maxine Benson, everywoman is an organisation dedicated to the empowerment, inspiration and support of women in business in the UK. With 40,000 members and growing it is the UK's largest female business community - the online and offline network is a hive of activity, contact-building and business debate. The events, training and awards programmes are designed to educate, inspire and support both those women who have already started their business journey and those who have yet to set off. Its ambition is to become the world’s largest and most influential female business network, inspiring generations of businesswomen and championing their cause, talents and prospects on a global scale. Karen and Maxine were both awarded the MBE in January 2009 for services to women’s enterprise. For more information, please visit: www.everywoman.com
