We currently have a position for a Platform Controller to join our Broadcast Services department at our offices in Osterley. Our Platform Control team provides first line support across our entire broadcast platform 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, using leading edge technology. As a Platform Controller you will monitor and support the Digital Broadcast, Interactive and Satellite Uplink systems to ensure minimum disruption to Sky's many services in the UK.
Role responsibilities:
* Operate, monitor and control services and facilities on the platform in line with agreed service level agreements
* Resolve incidents to ensure effect to customers is minimized.
* Diagnose faults and production and presentation of reports, as well as ensuring the adequate follow up of all incidents to prevent repetition of any faults and improve future response.
* Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of operating processes and procedures governing operational services and be consistent in ensuring effective problem solving within a highly technical and fast moving environment.
Skills and experience required:
The ideal candidate will have good communication skills and a strong Broadcast/IT technical aptitude, ideally developed in a first line technical/IT helpdesk support environment. Although full training will be provided in the role, experience of a television broadcast environment would be an advantage.
