Application Development Products Support Specialist

IBM Software Group require a Pre-Sales Technical Professional in the Rational Brand with a focus on Quality Management.

Employees in this role drive IBM revenue. They act as a technical consultant to our customers and remove technical inhibitors to the sale of IBM products, solutions and services. This specialist assures a solution's technical feasibility; qualifies opportunities; understands customer business and technical environments and can articulate technical benefits of IBM's products, solutions and services; ensures successful installation; and drives implementation planning. When engaged for a specific opportunity, they are responsible for the technical accuracy of the proposed solution, service, project, or enhancement.

Responsibilities include:
  • providing technical sales leadership and helping move sales opportunities to closure through demos, POCs, etc;
  • developing and delivering intellectual capital (i.e. PoTs, etc);
  • ensure customer satisfaction and drive effective handling of critical situations and complaints;
  • identify new opportunities through trusted technical relationships with customers;
  • providing skills transfer.
  • A detailed understanding of Software Quality Management processes and product offerings is highly desirable. Familiarity with the tools in the Rational Portfolio is also highly desirable.

Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Have a working knowledge of test processes and how they integrate with the rest of the software development lifecycle : Mastered
  • Working knowledge of Test automation tools for Functional Testing, Performance Testing and Test Management : Mastered
  • Working knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile development processes : Applied
  • Strong communication and presentation skills : Applied
  • An understanding of a sales organization and its challenges and priorities : Applied
  • Basic Java Skills : Acquired
  • English: Fluent

Preferred
  • Information Technology
