Application Innovation Services - Senior Business Analyst / Business Architect Role

Application Innovation Services (AIS) within IBM's Global Business Services (GBS) is looking to recruit a very experienced Business Analyst with proven experience in applying structured business analysis techniques as part of a team delivering a complex systems integration solution.

The right candidate will need to have performed a: Requirements Manager, Business Architect or Lead BA role within multiple systems integration projects or programmes. The right candidate will have evidence of being a trusted advisor at Board level and seen as a functional subject matter expert.

Candidate must present clear evidence of:
- experience of working in and leading teams in all phases of the solutions delivery lifecycle from high level requirements to implementation
- using different business analysis techniques to liaise with business stakeholders (at all levels) in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems
- understanding business problems and opportunities and working alongside technical experts to recommend solutions that enable the requirements to be met.
- taking responsibility for defining and selecting tools, processes, priorities and resources needed to undertake the analysis of a complex systems integration project or programme, leveraging prior experience
- practical Use Case and Process Modelling experience, or recognised equivalent
- proven experience on complex systems integration projects, bringing expert knowledge of Business Process Re-engineering or other Process Improvements
- forming and leading a team of 6 individuals or more in the analysis phase of the lifecycle ideally also managing, coaching and mentoring: client, business partner or contract BA resources
- proven track record of bidding for or winning business or systems analysis work
- translating a strategic vision into specific requirements for the business function or units mission

CV must be explicit about what the applicant was personally responsible for as opposed to the team or project achievements.
Candidate must have honours degree (1st or 2(i) desirable) or equivalent
Candidates must demonstrate strong inter-personal, communication and facilitation skills
Candidates must show enthusiasm and commitment to delivering to tight deadlines
Candidates must have a well developed approach to problem solving and decision making
Candidates must be happy to take personal responsibility for the quality of their deliverables
Candidates must be self starters and be able to hit the ground running
Candidates must have evidence of negotiating and resolving conflict
Candidates should show various leadership values e.g. strategic risk taking, thinking horizontally or embracing challenges

Required
  • BA Skill Set : Mastered
  • English: Fluent

Additional information
Candidate may present clear evidence of:
- data analysis skills or structured data modelling experience
- experience in prototyping or agile methods
- proven experience on COTS (Common Of The Shelf) package implementation projects
- working across multiple industry sectors, ideally including financial services
- working as part of a virtual team to delvier business analysis deliverables
