Application Specialist (VB, SQL, XML)

You will get the opportunity to spend time with us in Belfast during training, working with Accenture employees to gain a full understanding of your role. Once in the role you will be based in Glasgow working on client site alongside delivery and client management teams and interacting with offshore Design, Build and Test teams

Qualifications
What we're looking for 
  • An expert in Visual Basic (preferably v6.0) and Microsoft Access 
  • Very basic expertise in oracle SQL 
  • Very basic XML knowledge and VBA would be an advantage. 
  • Any knowledge of IBM message broker or IBM message queue would be an advantage but not essential 
  • Ideally you will have gained experience in the Financial Services or banking industry

What other skills do I need? 
  • Some experience in telephone banking is desirable. 
  • Understanding and fixing existing code in a support role 
  • Technical Writing - particularly for design documents for a wide customer facing audience 
  • Defect management 
  • Test script writing and implementing 
  • Applicants must be able to work independently investigating, fixing or amending existing applications where very little documentation can be provided.

NB: All successful applicants will be required to go through a basic Criminal check through Disclosure Scotland and a Financial Probity Search
