Application Support Manager, Global Rates and Currencies Technology, AVP

Summary of Business Area
Global Rates and Currency Technology (GRCT) provides technology solutions and support to the GRC Business, one of the division of Global Markets at Bank of America Merrill Lynch covering all Rates and Currency Trading.

GRCT Application Service Delivery team is a global team that provides Support and Service Delivery function to GRC businesses globally. This role is part of the ASD Cross Product team, which supports all Cross Business applications and will be specific to Risk Management and Risk Delivery application support.

Role Responsibilities
GRC Application Service Delivery team is currently looking to recruit an application support manager at an Assistant Vice President level with relevant experience to join the Cross Product Support team in London. The role will require supporting Market Data Applications in GRC, interface with Technology and Business Stakeholders.

The following are some of the key responsibilities: 
  • Application support for Global Markets Trading businesses including but not restricted to Incident/Problem Management, Change and release management, SLA management including defining, reporting, measuring and improving SLA. 
  • Global Application Support ownership of a couple of in-house applications in the Market data management space. 
  • Liaise with key Technology and Business partners, with a view to developing a broader understanding of the Global Markets Group, and familiarity with the Bank of America Merrill Lynch culture

Skill Requirements 
  • Strong and Relevant experience in Application Support in a Front Office Trading Business. 
  • Experience in supporting market data applications for Fixed Income businesses. 
  • Competency in Unix/Shell Scripting using Perl and Python, Good SQL skills and a sound understanding of SQL Server 
  • Good Financial Market Knowledge. 
  • Experience in ITRS, ITSM, Autosys and exposure to products like Gemfire, Datasynapse. 
  • Ability to work in a Matrix organisation and to lead a small Global functional team. 
  • Good problem-solving skills and must be able to quickly grasp new concepts and make prudent risk/reward decisions 
  • Strong organisational, oral and written communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to demonstrate individual initiative, a sense of urgency, responsiveness, and a desire to grow, learn and take on increasing levels of responsibility 
  • Willingness to be a team player, work flexible hours, and ability to work under pressure to specified deadlines
