The Equity Derivatives IT (EDIT) department is currently looking for a developer to join the Asia Change Program in London.
ROLE:
The candidate will join the Asia Change Program. The objective of this program is to build a fully strategic Front-to-back stack designed for trading Equity Derivative Structured Products. There are a number of roles available covering a variety of aspects of the stack including risk, valuation, quoting, execution, MO workflow & documentation services.
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
- Significant, leading contribution of a critical aspect of the Asia Change Stack.
- 3rd Line Support, investigation and resolution of production issues.
DIVISION/DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Equity Derivatives IT (EDIT) department is responsible for the end-to-end management and delivery of Information Technology for the global Equity Derivatives and Fund-Linked Products businesses.
In particular, it develops and supports Front Office Systems & Tools used by the global Equity Derivatives business for flow and exotic equity derivatives, options and fund linked products, as well as overall management of the IT strategy and portfolio across the Front, Middle and Back Office for these businesses.
The Equity Derivatives business has a large and ongoing programme of work which includes strategic re-engineering of its IT systems and architecture to meet the challenges of a major increase in trading volumes, as well as support for new trade types, and the EDIT department is responsible for the overall delivery of this programme.
TO QUALIFY YOU MUST POSSESS:
- 6-7 years commercial software development.
- Predominantly Java. Expert practitioner of test-driven, Agile software methodologies and associated tools/technologies.
- Proven ability to work well in a front-office or similar highly pressurised and delivery-oriented environment
- Strong client focus.
- Strong team-building and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively with IT colleagues.
- Experience of delivering complex systems in a changing fast paced environment.
- Understand concepts of and will have worked under source code configuration management policies and tools.
- Good degree in IT (but will consider a strong Mathematics, Engineering, Arts or other Science degree, or equivalent Commercial experience.)
- Reasonable financial knowledge of derivative products their valuation and the generation of risk.
