The BBC is looking for a Business Analyst to join the Central Online Group (COG), to provide operational support for the Online Direction Group (ODG), which provides pan-BBC management control for BBC Online and Red Button. COG also has editorial responsibility for two products, Search and Homepage, as well as a number of pan-BBC services such as moderation.
On a day to day basis, our Business Analysts are deciphering and communicating requirements within COG, and help devise effective solutions that are in line with the strategic aims of the department and the wider BBC.
You will be responsible for interpreting consumer and audience research data, market and competitor analysis, product analysis and definition, and other tasks contributing to the definition and implementation of products within the department.
Some of these products are pretty complex. As such we would hope you’d have a certain pedigree coming in. So if your CV highlights the following, then you could be a good fit:
It is essential that you have knowledge / skills in multiple methodologies such as Agile (particularly scrum) and other iterative development methodologies. You should also have demonstrable experience of using relevant documenting & diagramming techniques such as UML, Domain Models, Process Flow, Use Cases, User Stories, User Journeys.
2012 will mean all eyes on BBC’s digital services for our coverage of The Olympics, European Championships and Wimbledon to name a few. As such this will be a very rewarding time to be part of the BBC and this role will be an impressive addition to any Business Analysts CV.
