Business Analyst/Project Manager - Sales and Research Technology, VP

Overview
Bank of America Merrill Lynch Sales, Research, and Capital Markets (SRCM) Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst/Project Manager to liaise with and help drive Sales and Trading Performance Reporting technology solutions for the Global Markets business in EMEA

Job Description
As a Business Analyst/Project Manager the candidate will liaise between the business and technology teams to support the Consolidated System for Analytics and Reporting (CSAR) system - an integrated MIS platform that is used by Sales and Trading to track client and product revenue and performance.

Responsibilities
The candidate will report into the global Program Management Office (PMO) for Performance Reporting Technology (PRT), and will cover the following areas of focus in their daily function:
  • Aggressively learn the Global Markets Sales Performance Reporting (CSAR) platform, its affiliated technologies and reference data systems in order to act as the local Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Own and manage the relationship with key business partners on a daily basis and involve various technology resources as needed
  • Provide SME-level support to the EMEA business on an on-going basis; including working with Production Support to resolve issues, perform ad-hoc system queries, and conduct studies using online BI Tools
  • Gather and document detailed business requirements for small and major enhancements to the CSAR platform. Confirm requirements and implementation targets with stakeholders (Sales, Trading, COO), and review business requirements with the development team and QA to understand technical implementation and limitations
  • Manage user acceptance testing (UAT) in line with the test plan. Work with business partners to create the UAT plan and follow the requirements into production. Provide user training and demos as required to support roll-out

Requirements
  • Understanding of sell-side Sales and Trading businesses, including familiarity with Fixed Income, Equities, and Currencies/Rates products
  • Candidate must be comfortable interfacing with various groups at all levels, including Front / Middle Office, COO, CTO, Technology teams and Client Services. Soft skills include assertiveness, influencing and diplomacy skills. Demonstrated ability to present viable solutions and obtain buy-in, and be able to understand and manage the sensitivities of multiple stakeholders
  • Self-motivated. Demonstrate the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and effectively engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using business intelligence tools
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills required
  • Excellent investment banking/broker dealer experience preferred

Technical Skills
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Project, and Visio.
  • Working knowledge of RDBMS and web-based technologies.
  • Previous work experience as a business analyst or project manager in a software development organization, and familiarity with various Software Development Life Cycle (SLDC) models is desired.
  • Experience using COGNOS business intelligence tool and SQL is a plus
