Business Analyst Specialist

Role Summary
Working on various analysis activities, you’ll provide the business analysis expertise and sound judgement that will help drive and shape the scope of projects, enabling Vodafone to maximise business benefit and value from business change.
You’ll be methodical and flexible in your approach and have the communication style to lead the elicitation, analysis and presentation of high quality requirements in order to ensure successfully output of the delivery lifecycle.

Essence of Role
Deliver business analysis to projects and other analysis activities 
Define the analysis approach and agree with the Business Manager or Lead Analyst. 
Shape and agree the scope of a project and manage change to it. 
Ensure timely delivery of deliverables to a high quality. 
Work collaboratively within the project process ensuring that the appropriate stakeholders are engaged. 
Champion and embed a customer experience and brand centred approach in all activities. 
Accurately report on activities, escalating where necessary to gain additional support, to enable the team’s management functions.

Deliver high quality business requirements optimised for business value. 
Familiarise with and understand the business area being worked in. 
Identify and manage from a business analysis perspective all key stakeholders needed to complete requirements. 
Elicit functional and non-functional requirements from all key stakeholders using appropriate techniques. 
Analyse stakeholder input and optimise the business value, taking into account the range of input and constraints from across the business. 
Represent and communicate business requirements to ensure clarity and a smooth flow of information through the delivery lifecycle, using appropriate mandated tools, techniques and guidelines. 
Influence and control change to requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Assure solution fit and test plans 
Work with solution architects and designers to ensure that solution design will satisfy the requirements. 
Provide input to test plans and work with test areas to ensure that all requirements are tested.

Lead business design to realise business benefit. 
Identify business impact resulting from proposed business change 
Design business change solutions, working collaboratively with impacted stakeholders and technical architects, such that the business benefit can be realised. 
Represent and communicate business design to ensure clarity and obtain buy in from impacted stakeholders and business sponsors, using appropriate mandated tools, techniques and guidelines. 
Control change to business design throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Input to the resource process 
Accurately estimate own resource project load for input to the resourcing process.
Continuously improve the business analysis capability of the team • Identify improvements to the team’s mandated tools, techniques, guidelines and processes and actively engage to see those improvements implemented. 
Keep abreast of industry best practice in analysis techniques and demonstrate application within Vodafone. 
Train team members in tools and techniques.

Participate in BA&SD team development. 
Participate in growing and building the skills, knowledge and talent required for the team’s roles. 
Engage to maximise employee experience, collaborating with other team members and employee experience reps. 
Ensure that team members are fairly recognised, rewarded and given appropriate opportunities to best contribute to Vodafone.

Communication 
Have excellent communications skills able to articulate complex issues clearly and effectively. 
Maintain excellent relationships with internal customers, managing expectations and outcomes. 
Build and maintain open relationships with Head of Domain, Heads of Functions etc, the team’s customers, suppliers and peers 
Actively seek and act on feedback for the team from team members, peers, senior managers, customers and suppliers

Technical/Professional Expertise
ESSENTIAL

Excellent process design skills (process modelling, re-engineering etc.)
Excellent analytical skills (listening, questioning, challenging, modelling etc.)
Ability to chair and manage meetings and workshops
Excellent inter-personal and communications skills
DESIRABLE
Proven analysis experience.
Able to provide consultancy in business analysis and give educational support to Vodafone staff.
Good working knowledge of Vodafone’s products and/or business enabling technologies within a specific area
Significant experience of end to end solution development in an operator environment or similar
