Business Analytics and Optimization - Advanced Analytics Consultant

In 2009 IBM Global Business Services launched a new consulting service line called Business Analytics and Optimization bringing together skills from across the organisation into a major new team. The BAO Service Line will be enabled by a network of Analytics Solution Centers. Five initial centers will be located in Tokyo, London, New York City, Beijing and Washington, D.C.

We currently have opportunities for experienced consultants in Advanced Analytics

Advanced Analytics Consultants are responsible for successful delivery of BAO Advanced Analytics solutions and services in a client consulting environment, and is an experienced consultant in the areas of optimization (linear, mixed integer, constraint programming), simulation, and or predictive analytics. Typical tasks include defining the key business problems to be solved, formulating mathematical approaches to solve those problems, gathering of data to solve those problems, and finally developing analyzing/drawing conclusions & giving the presentations.

At the more junior end we are looking for people with hands-on experience able to work on as part of a delivery team. More senior candidates are expected to be able to lead delivery, maintain relationships with clients and participate in business development activities and proposal work in order to grow the practice.

Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience applying analytics techniques in a business enrironment : Acquired
  • Experience using analytics tools such as SAS or SPSS : Mastered
  • Senior candidates will have demonstrated successful delivery and a combination of leadership and business development activities in their area : Mastered
  • Must have eligibility to work in the UK : Mastered
  • English: Fluent
