Business Analytics & Optimization Project Manager

The application of business analytics is opening up important new possibilities for clients and promises to transform the way consulting is practiced. Bringing together sophisticated analytics from IBM Research with market-leading software platforms, deep industry insight and business consulting expertise, IBM’s Business Analytics and Optimization (BAO) service line helps clients gain greater precision and predictability out of every business decision they make. With the help of IBM’s BAO practice, clients now can understand the consequences of any business decision allowing them to operate at a new level of intelligence, far beyond sense and respond.

The Business Analytics & Optimization (BAO) Project Manager (PM) is directly accountable/responsible for successful project delivery of BAO technology & client engagements. This individual provides hands-on leadership & direction to the team as well as manages client relationships and contract and financial matters.. The PM will also be heavily involved in business case development. Typical tasks include establishing a team in a global environment (multi-site) enabling planning, risk management and communications and managing through all phases of an engagement including concept through deployment and production support.

Successful candidates will demonstrate proven ability to project manage complex BAO projects across the development life-cycle, ideally involving off-shore as well as local teams.

Industry expertise is a “nice to have” but not a priority for this role

Responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for staffing and managing client engagements
  • Responsible for maintaining project schedule
  • Responsible for project budgets
  • Responsible for status reporting and client relationship management
