IT Investment Banking Business Area is currently looking for a Business/System Analyst Business Analyst to join the team in London
ROLE SUMMARY:
This is a Business Analyst role working on front to back projects for the Trade Flow IT. The team supports the OTC Derivatives area in providing front to back solutions for capturing and processing trades ensuring that the adequate controls are in place to mitigate operational risk. This encompasses the whole trade lifecycle from trade capture through to confirmation and settlement, therefore working with users from Front, Middle and Back Office.
The primary focus of this role will be to work on a programme of work to implement changes to facilitate Market Initiatives across all OTC asset classes – Credit, Rates and Equities. The Market Initiatives team has been created to ensure Credit Suisse complies with regulatory requirements and is competitively positioned in the marketplace, open projects within this space include Central Clearing (Buy-Side, Inter-Dealer, Broker-Dealer), DTCC Product Expansion and Markitwire integration amongst others. The role requires a BA to contribute to the analysis and solution design of the implementation of front to back changes.
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
The role will require a combination of Business and Technical Analysis skills. You will be expected to take full, end-to-end responsibility for project delivery including ‘hands on’ tasks such as functional analysis, estimation and planning, testing and implementation tasks where required. This role is expected to involve working with several business areas and IT teams across several departments at all levels from junior line users to senior Managing Directors and therefore good communication and influencing skills are essential. This role would suit a candidate who has experience of working in a Derivatives change team who has experience of working on front to back projects.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with the business to understand business requirements, business process change and translating them into effective system solutions.
- Forming strong relationships with our business partners and working closely with the business teams to gather requirements analysis, User Acceptance Testing and preparation for change to business processes.
- Ability to define, document and re-engineer process flows and use cases to deliver strategic solutions.
- Ability to work on multiple projects or phases of projects where required.
- Defining, planning, leading and executing IT tasks required to deliver the project (functional analysis, development tasks, system testing and implementation).
- Identifying dependencies between systems/processes to ensure a cohesive front to back solution (eg. Trade Capture, Documentation, Settlement).
- Producing Functional Specifications in conjunction with the Business and IT teams.
- Working with all of the relevant development teams to understand and define the impact of the changes required for the project and the most appropriate front to back architecture to support this and determining appropriate software solutions and associated estimates.
- Regular reporting to the Programme\Project Manager.
- Working with the Quality Assurance team to produce appropriate test plans and strategy. Writing of system test plans and execution of system test packs to ensure adequate coverage of system and regression testing.
- Working with developers to produce technical specifications from the functional specifications and determine appropriate software solutions and associated estimates
Specific Responsibilites:
- Key responsibilities will be analysis of the Clearing project which consists of ensuring Credit Suisse can facilitate buy-side, dealer to dealer and broker to dealer clearing via third party vendors. This will include but not be limited to the following tasks:
- Analysis of how Central Clearing can be integrated into our existing trade capture,
and operational process flows to 3rd party affirmation\confirmation vendors.
- Conduct walkthrough of requirements to secure business agreement (Credit, IRP, Equities, Prime Services).
- Produce functional specifications and ensure sign off by Business, IT, QA.
- Produce training documentation and walkthroughs to ensure business readiness for change.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES:
- Additional hours may be required at key project points.

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:
Essential:
- 3 years Business Analysis experience within a trade capture environment
- Experience of working with IT development teams on multiple project deliverables.
- Knowledge of front to back system flows (Trade Capture\settlement\Documentation)
Desirable:
- Consultancy background
- Experience of working on Market Initiatives
- Experience of working in a clearing house or affirmation company or with Prime Brokerage
- Experience of working with 3rd party vendors (DTCC, Markit, CME, ICE)
- Experience of working in an agile project.
TECHNICAL/BUSINESS SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Essential:
- This role will involve working heavily with both the business and IT. Therefore applicants must have highly effective communication skills.
- OTC Derivatives Product Knowledge e.g. Credit Derivatives, Interest Rate Derivatives, Equity Derivatives
Desirable:
- Familiar with Straight Through Processing concepts, processes and Controls
- Knowledge of design methodologies (UML, Agile techniques)
- Experience of Automated testing
- Basic SQL knowledge
