IT Investment Banking Business Area is currently looking for a C# / ASP.Net Developer (Front office IT) to join the team in London.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will join a dynamic Front Office IT application development team working closely with different Derivatives trading areas globally. The development team is highly regarded by their clients and projects are mainly focused on development of new cutting edge strategic electronic trading solutions for new business initiatives as well as enhancements to improve functionality, control, and efficiency.
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
- Due to the dynamic and fast growing nature of the electronic trading business, there is an emphasis on generic and flexible design methodologies, enabling the systems to be easily and quickly extended.
- Although the candidate will be operating as part of a supervised team the candidate will be individually responsible for the projects they work on and therefore require self motivation, enthusiasm and good communication skills as they will be interacting with traders on a regular basis.
- The role will involve analysis (requirements, functional and technical specs), design, development, implementation, testing, deployment and support (i.e. the whole software development lifecycle).The majority of new development is done in .NET / C# and ASP .NET.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES:
- Weekend work is rarely needed, but could occur, e.g. when major system releases need to be made outside office hours.
TO QUALIFY YOU MUST POSSESS:
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential: University degree.
Desirable: Computer science degree
WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:
Essential:
- Minimum of 3 years practical software development experience.
- Proven involvement in the full development lifecycle for small to large-scale systems.
Desirable:
- Development of banking systems and derivatives knowledge, especially with experience of
- Trade processing and trade operations
- Equity Derivatives products
- Trade entry systems
- Risk management and pricing systems
- Workflow-based systems
TECHNICAL/BUSINESS SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Essential:
Expertise in most of:
- C#
- ASP.NET
- JavaScript
- SQL
- XML modelling and XSLT
- SCM (e.g. ClearCase)
- Object Oriented design & development
Desirable:
Any of the following would also be useful experience:
- C++ background
- UNIX
- COM
- Scripting
- Familiarity with Equity & Fixed income Derivatives instruments.
- Experience with test framework and tools (e.g. Nunit)
