Consultant - System Engineering, Enterprise Technology and Delivery, VP

The role involves working within the EMEA Security Services group based in the UK, who are part of the Network Services group providing technology support to the various lines of businesses across multiple countries covering EMEA.

The Security Services infrastructure group support the international deployment of global products to customers and clients as well as securing regional corporate to corporate 3rd party connectivity to support business needs.

The services supported by the team are Content Management, Perimeter Security, Traffic Management and 3rd Party connectivity across a shared Infrastructure.

Responsibilities
Primarily acting as a technical delivery interface to the Business Projects team in the provision of secure solutions and guidance/consultancy to business partners. The individual will also be expected to oversee engineering and implementation delivery aspects of these solutions in line with the business partner’s expectations and escalate any variance from the agreed schedule with the outsourcing partner.

The role will involve working with global technology teams to turn business requirements into secure technical solutions covering architecture and pre-design work in line with standard platforms and solutions in accordance with the Bank Standards and baselines.

All solutions are designed and implemented around corporate standards and products and so the ability to understand and interpret corporate security policy across all platforms is an essential requirement.

A major responsibility will be to govern the outsourcing partner from a project delivery and operations perspective. This will involve focus and oversight on the delivery schedule and involvement in major operational issue escalation. The candidate will be ensuring that Operational stability is maintained at all times by the outsourced partner and that all changes and decisions are reviewed and analysed in order to negate any downtime for systems.

Manage Outsourced party from a billing and assurance perspective and building relationships with outsourcing party. Supporting outsourcing partner with reverse engineering engagements and working with the PMO to communicate major Infrastructure changes being implemented by the outsourcing partner that may affect the enterprise.

Proactive risk management of Architecture and Delivery components, ensuring Outsourcing partner is focused on proactively managing risk of platforms/projects and operational reviews in a timely and structured manner

The individual will be expected to work as part of a team as well as demonstrating that they can work on their own initiative. The candidate is expected to take a hand’s off approach to technical implementations of projects, although it will be key to understand the technical components being delivered.

The candidate should have excellent all-round presentation and documentation skills and an ability to interact in a professional manner with non-technical business partners as well as technical associates.

  • Working Knowledge of the following Technical Areas 
  • Financial Services – Investment banking exposure – Market Data Environment – Essential 
  • TCP/IP Security knowledge and ability to turn policies into security configurations 
  • Competent understanding of networking in the Internet space 
  • Checkpoint, Blue Coat, F5 and Cisco design and provisioning experience 
  • Proven track record of Service implementation and delivery. 
  • Excellent communication skills and must be a team player. 
  • Has worked in a consultancy capacity provisioning secure TCP/IP business connections 
  • Individual should be comfortable working in a Multi-tasking and demanding environment 
  • Previous experience of managing Outsourcing partner would be an advantage 
  • ITIL, Prince 2, CISSP
