Core Service Engineer

Technology Infrastructure Services Department is currently looking for a WACIS.NET Application Platform: Core Service Engineer to join the team in London.

ROLE SUMMARY:
This is a .NET application platform role and the candidate must have infrastructure design and development knowledge. The application platform offering enabled the development teams to focus on the business logic implementation and not worry about lifecycle, capacity, scalability, disaster-recovery management issues.
The candidate must have at least 5 years of rigorous experience in design and development of infrastructure to host .NET, WPF, Web services, COM, ASP, ASP.NET, ISAPI and COM+ enterprise scale applications. The candidate must have demonstrable exposure to security, entitlements, software engineering, desktop/server computing principles and application life cycle phases/principle.

THE ROLE INVOLVES:
The candidate should be able to assist in the development of the new global .NET application platform enhancements in the following areas: 
  • Shared Computing model 
  • Standalone computing model 
  • Process automation 
  • Configuration management 
  • Platform lifecycle management 
  • System Resiliency concepts 
  • Core components and services 
  • Core component and service engineering 
  • IIS 7/7.5 build engineering 
  • Enterprise scalability PoC, test design and implementation 
  • .NET Development Framework: module development 
  • Quality assurance of core .NET modules 
  • 3rd level Application development support 
  • Legacy application migration and techniques 
  • Author operational manual for the support organisation

Additional duties and responsibilities: 
  • Configuration baseline management 
  • Application development lifecycle methodologies 
  • Capacity & resource planning & design 
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments 
  • Appreciation for distributed application architecture 
  • Excellent communication skills 

TO QUALIFY YOU MUST POSSESS: 
  • Engineering degree (Computer Science/ Electronics/Electrical Engineering) (4 years or equivalent) 
  • Infrastructure architecture & design > 6 years 
  • .NET Framework Security, PKI, SSL, Core components and services > 4 years
