Credit Risk Server Team Leader

Risk IT provides application development and support for the main Risk functions in Credit Suisse, Risk Management & Measurement (RMM), and Credit Risk Management (CRM).

Risk IT provides the tools for RMM/CRM to identify, measure and help manage the firm's financial risks for senior management, regulators, Credit Suisse traders, and other users.

Located in the four main global locations, London, New York, Singapore and Zurich, Risk IT provides 24-hour coverage for all Risk applications.

DEPARTMENTAL OVERVIEW
The position is in Credit Risk IT - the Strategic IT development team for Credit Risk Management (CRM). This is a global department within Risk IT.
The project is INSIGHT, which is Credit Suisse’s Global Credit Risk Management System. INSIGHT is a high profile and critical system for Credit Suisse. There are more than 2000 users globally.
30+ developers work on INSIGHT based in London and Singapore divided into Feeds, Server and Client teams. This position is to lead the INSIGHT Server team, currently a team of 15. The INSIGHT server comprises the Credit Risk Database, Feed Load System, Risk Engine, Monte Carlo Simulation system, Close of Business process and the month end process.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
Manage Insight Server projects
  • Scheduling, costing and prioritisation of changes / releases.
  • Provide feedback on business specs and perform technical analysis.
  • Assign changes, train staff, support development and ensure high quality implementation / testing.
  • Manage development and UAT testing phases.
  • Plan and manage deployment of releases to production.
  • Ensure compliance with SDLC+ and SOX documentation and procedures.
  • Liaise with business clients including Credit Risk Management, Risk Measurement and Management, CEMG (Exposure Methodology), CRIS (Credit Risk Reporting), RDC (Insight feeds and data quality).
Manage Insight Server Infrastructure and Technical Book of Work
  • Monitor system performance and ensure infrastructure upgrades to cope with increasing volumes are implemented in good time.
  • Identify “pain points” and prioritise appropriate technical improvements, for example to improve performance, scalability, stability, reduce complexity, automate manual tasks, improve development and UAT environments / processes, add system monitoring, ensure audit compliance.
  • Manage and extend the system metrics packs. These measure key performance criteria across the system.
  • Liaise with Infrastructure teams and DBAs.
Manage Production Support
  • Ensure production issues are treated with the appropriate urgency.
  • Take ownership of high priority production issues and ensure successful resolution.
  • Ensure strategic changes are made to avoid recurring production issues.
Manage other BAU work
  • Support testing of Feeds changes.
  • Perform impact analyses on request of the business.
  • Manage system Disaster Recovery tests.
Provide technical expertise
