BBC News is looking for a Data Architect with strong experience working with RDF and semantic web technology to join the News & Knowledge department.
N&K manage and develop products on websites, mobile devices and interactive TV, and has a world-leading approach to content management and metadata. They're also delivering the London 2012 Olympics across BBC Online.
The team is currently working on the next generation of IP-delivered products, and the successful candidate would be leading and driving the modelling of the News domain.
Data Architecture is increasingly at the centre of the BBC's online strategy, and as part of this you would be joining a strong & innovative multidiscipline department - BBC NEWS. As such, we'll need to see previous experience and knowledge on your CV of:
• Working data models into rich ontologies (RDF, OWL etc)
• Defining and maintaining data governance structures, data authoring workflows, and managing data quality
• An understanding of web standards
• Data editing/modelling tools like Topbraid, XML editors and Google Refine
• Effectively communicating complex or technical concepts at all levels within organisations and to diverse audiences
• Mediating domain modelling and requirements gathering workshops with a variety of stakeholders of varying disciplines and technical knowledge
• Working on a variety of online and customer facing, back-end systems and integration projects
