Design Team Lead, Enterprise Technology and Delivery, AVP

Summary of Business Area
The Design Team lead (DTL) is a role within the Design and Build part of the Enterprise Technology and Delivery (ETandD) organization. This position is within the Global, Commercial, Corporate and Investment Banking Technology Engineering domain, supporting projects and initiatives driven out of the GCCIBT business lines. The DTL works closely with Subject matter experts from the various Engineering teams, Technical project managers and Chief Engineers and is a key role in delivering quality technical solutions for the business.

Role Responsibilities
The successful associate will assume the following responsibilities:
  • Completing ETandD Technical requirements and design documents
  • Working with the Business teams and various engineering teams to develop infrastructure designs for new application deployments.
  • Identifying and adhering to proper standard stacks and reference architectures as dictated by the project design
  • Providing technology expertise in infrastructure solution design
  • Managing design process in support of established metric goals
  • Coordinating/Leading Design Meetings
  • Extensive systems engineering experience

Skill Requirements
Essential:

  • Demonstrable IT experience in large corporate environment
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • An individual who is able and willing to take the initiative as and when is appropriate
  • An individual who is able to work with teams from multiple locations/geographies
  • Is customer service focused, with good communications skills, a self starter, self supervised and has good influencing skills
  • General knowledge of server operating systems (Linux, Window and Solaris), database technologies and middleware (Web servers, messaging, etc).
Technical:
  • Extensive systems engineering experience
  • Strong AIX or Solaris knowledge
  • Strong Red Hat Linux 3, 4 and 5 knowledge
  • DNS/DHCP and NIS
  • TCP /IP
  • VxVM/VxFS/VCS 4 and 5
  • A good understanding of IBM P and X Series and HP/Proliant server architecture
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of ITIL procedures and best practices
  • Experience of mainframe, database and middleware technologies
