Developer Account Manager

Role Purpose
To own the technical relationship between game development partners and Microsoft, and to leverage the available resources (engineering, technical support, business development, publishing teams, etc) to provide world class technical engagements and support to enable them to build the very best games on Microsoft platforms.

To understand the needs of our game development partners, and effectively communicate those needs to our internal teams and drive effective responses.

Team/Department Mission
Get the best/better games on Xbox 360 and Games for Windows in Europe by working closely with the Publisher and Developer communities and by leveraging our platforms’ technological capacities as well as the internal teams and resources worldwide.

Key Accountabilities
Understand your customer's needs and communicate those needs within the respective partner teams
Solve their development problems by connecting them with the right people throughout the platform team(s)
Help them to take advantage of the power of Microsoft platforms through your knowledge of our platform features, processes and approaches
Most importantly help them raise the bar in gaming.
Travel to and work with 3rd parties is core part of the job.

Key Success Criteria
Solve key partner technical challenges and platform issues
Co-ordinate all aspects of the relationship with the publishers and orchestrate the different resources available within the Microsoft to win the developers mind.
Manage the diversity of tasks as well as the relationship with multiple partner accounts.
Align the needs of Microsoft and our Game Development Partners
Bring the best possible games to Xbox 360 and Games for Windows
Be the voice of Microsoft to the European Game Developer community by representing Microsoft at industry events and committees.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1) Essential Experience

Strong experience within the gaming industry.
Good experience in supporting external customers or partners.
Strong business acumen.

2) Technical / Functional Skills
In-depth working knowledge of the video games industry.
Experience of game design and production.
Strong technical understanding of game development principles.
Previous game producing or development experience desired.

3) Personal Attributes / Interpersonal Skills
Excellent communication skills, including some public speaking.
Strong customer orientation and ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
Passionate about driving for business success.
Takes ownership of problems and drive for solutions.
Ability to inspire and evangelize through all forms of communications.
The ability to negotiate or mediate disagreements competently, staying focused on the situation rather than emotions.
The ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines.

4) Qualifications
Degree in business or related field.

Special Requirements/Additional Information
Frequent travel to publishers and developers throughout the EMEA region
Driving license
