The BBC are looking for a Developer in Test, Lead Engineer to join the Radio & Music team.
Radio & Music resides within the BBC’s Programmes & onDemand department (POD) and will provide you with the opportunity to work with pioneering technology and forward thinking colleagues who will share a passion for innovation and who deliver the highest quality.
We're looking for someone to come in who will:
• Learn the architecture and interactions of all back-end components
• Devise new methods of testing the system effectively
• Write and execute effective functional tests, carrying out exploratory (unscripted) testing where appropriate
• Support test automation where appropriate; mainly Selenium/Ruby
• Support and actively working towards test driven development (TDD)
• Work within a business driven development (BDD) environment
• Produce clear and concise test reports and release notes
• Work collaboratively with other testers and teams to ensure the spread of good practices and knowledge
As well as the technology experience with Ruby, Cucumber, JIRA, Selenium, PHP and JavaScript, this is what we want to come across in your CV:
• First and foremost you should be a highly motivated System Tester
• Solid experience of working in a test driven environment
• Must have Software Engineering or Computer Science to degree level or higher; or show technical competence and enthusiasm for the role
• Must have an ISEB qualification; or show you have read extensively around the subject of testing methods
• Demonstrable knowledge of and experience of applying advanced testing techniques including formal Exploratory testing
• You will be motivated and committed to learn and develop your technical ability
• A good knowledge of the software development / test life cycle, combined with extensive experience of designing and executing test cases; scripted and unscripted
