IT Investment Banking Business Area is currently looking for a Development Manager/Team Lead to join the team in London.
ROLE SUMMARY:
Development manager of the team implementing and delivering complex functional and application architecture changes of a critical risk management application – the market risk calculation and reporting system (MaRS).
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
- Work with the clients to define scope of MaRS releases. Planning, management and delivery of MaRS releases.
- Lead the implementation of value-at-risk (VaR) and other market risk models and reporting functionality.
- Implementation of software components using C++, STL and SQL
- Understanding and converting user requirements into high quality functional solutions within the risk application
- High level design and technical specifications
Additional duties and responsibilities:
- Occassional support of the current application will be required outside normal working hours
- As player/coach manage the day to day activities of team members
- Ensure that the sofware development process within team conforms to the bank’s standards and policies.
- Ensure that the system technical architecture and support documentation conforms to the bank’s disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans (BCP)
TO QUALIFY YOU MUST POSSESS:
- Comprehensive knowledge of C++ (including STL), and at least 2 years’ solid experience of software development using these.
- Excellent faculty for logical reasoning.
- Ability to handle mathematics of first year degree standard, including good grasp of statistics.
- Experience in design methodologies (UML, Component Design Tools, etc.)
- Exposure to large database systems, preferably on Oracle
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work at a fast pace in a team and adapt style to ensure the project is successful.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment for all stakeholders.
