Director, Quality Assurance, Global Rates & Currencies Technology

Manage and transform the Quality Assurance function for the Rates and Currencies business within Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Senior Director to run Quality Assurance & Quality Assurance Tools, managing a Team of 35 to 40, India, Jersey, States, Singapore, London, with goals to unify the group, push out new metrics and grow the team.

Working with Managing Directors to establish a two year plan for all Quality Assurance to be done centrally.

There is a huge focus & a very high profile associated with this role.

Requirements
Required skill sets include:

Communicate effectively with internal and outside clients: Candidate can discuss and resolve issues with both internal and external counterparties using the client’s language. This role requires a significant buy-in from development management to sell the benefits of the model.

Highly detail oriented and organized: Candidate can perform functions quickly and accurately, ability to manage 40+ resources

Technical mindset: Candidate can grasp technical concepts and implementation details

Proven ability to build out a QA organization in a Global Investment Bank.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple processes: Candidate can manage time sensitive issues, prioritize multiple processes and projects and articulate thought process for decision-making.

Significant industry experience with India-based structures. Clear knowledge of cultural and organizational challenges arising from the India offshore models.

Knowledge of trading systems (Equities or Fixed Income perspective) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities

Work with multiple technology project teams to deliver QA Testing across Rates and Currencies Technology.

Responsible for uniting and integrating functional testing team with tools and automation.

Ability to build consensus with the development managers and sell the benefits of a separate QA group.

Ensure global coordination of communication, planning and reporting – will manage a QA team that is geographically dispersed across Asia, EMEA and AMRs , together with a significant India captive.

Responsible for ensuring overall software quality is monitored and maintained and/or ensuring systems QA standards necessary to execute test plans and procedures for acceptance testing of new or modified applications and/or systems.

Establishes QA standards and procedures. These responsibilities extend to providing management oversight, and scheduling coordination for QA activities performed by the QA Team in support of systems and software projects.

Has significant interaction with business area execs, vendors and operations execs in determining whether systems and system components, including hardware, networks, system software, tools, and applications are appropriate and/or ready for implementation.

Fosters stable support framework for development teams and business units in the area of quality control and the development of new or revised applications. Manages associates and makes all decisions on personnel actions including staffing, performance management and compensation decision-making.

Manages budget, monitors progress and adjusts resources and priorities accordingly.
