• Strategy & Architecture is the organization within Enterprise Systems which provides the overall SAP strategy & roadmaps, solution architectures, identifies emerging technologies and hosts the Design Authorities. The Functional Architect has the overall accountability for the functional architecture of a specific solution.
• The Functional Architect is a professional with knowledge and experience in the functional architecture domain. The Functional Architect is involved in the entire process, beginning with working with the customer to understand real needs and then throughout the process to translate those needs into capabilities verified to meet the needs.
• The Functional Architect role is responsible for modelling the baseline and the target functional architecture and communicating how this architecture addresses the business requirements.
• The Functional Architect is responsible for capturing and documenting the functional scope and its translation into more detailed specifications and design (the functional design). The Functional Architect works closely with the Business Analysts (responsible for analysing the business needs) and the Functional Architect acts as the gate between what is requested and what is do-able, proposing a solution design for the do-able.
• The Functional Architect also supports programme or project leadership in the articulation of business transformation objectives and benefits and documents these in a way accessible to IT&S teams (the statement of scope).
• The Functional Architect follows the BP Architecture Common Process and uses a variety of tools (ARIS) and techniques (Business Process Models, Activity models, use case models, class models, UML, etc.) to document baseline and target architectures.
• This role bridges the gap between business and technical architecture, to ensure that the solution can be pragmatically implemented within the constraints set by the project or programme and according to the agreed architectural principles and standards.
• The Functional Architect – PRA is required to develop the strategy and roadmap for the SAP PRA module used by the Upstream business in the US and to agree the same with stakeholders
• The Functional Architect - PRA will be engaged in the BP PRA programme and will lead the Design Authority for the PRA design
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in a Science orientated discipline)
• Professional Financial qualification
• SAP Certifications in SAP Financials
• Extensive knowledge of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning Systems and SAP MI components and proven knowledge in more than one SAP module
• SAP implementation experiences from more than 4 projects with global footprint (Design and Deployment)
• Relevant industry experience
• Previous project implementation experience
• TOGAF Professional accreditation (or ability to get certified within 6 months of joining)
• Previous experience in the Oil & Gas Industry• Knowledge of SAP PRA module and it’s application• Management best practice for SAP configuration and deployment • Knowledge of SAP technical standards and development best practices• Release Management experience• Proven experience of visioning and strategic thought• Proven influencing capabilities, especially decision making• SAP and ERP Integration Application architecture
