FX Cash C++ Infra Senior Developer

The FX Cash team is focused on delivering to the FX Trading, eTrading and Sales Desks the technology that will allow Morgan Stanley to continue grow its FX business, a key growth area for the Firm.
The business wants to scale the footprint of FX, in terms of market share and volume, to compete with the market leaders and the systems need to be renovated and re-architected to cope with this growth.
We require an experienced, solid C++ Developer to work within the FX group to help with this growth. The candidate will be focused on the development, enhancement and second line support of Morgan Stanley's FX Cash risk and booking gateway applications. The position requires excellent C++ knowledge. The candidate must be able to function with light supervision, take ownership of projects and be able to identify and carry out the technical and non technical tasks necessary to deliver quality solutions to the business in a timely manner. Strong communication skills are required.

The role involves all aspects of the software life cycle from requirement gathering from the business and analysis of the existing systems/functionality to design and implementation; all the way through to the production roll out and subsequent support. We need flexible candidates who are practical technologists who show excellent problem solving skills and enjoy all aspect of software development.
The candidate will work closely with the many teams within the FX IT department; with the FX business unit as and when necessary and will liaise with the Firm middleware IT groups when using their frameworks/software.

Skills Required
The candidate must have the stong skills in the following:
  • Excellent C++ - STL, templates, Boost
  • Multithreading
  • Unix
  • Experience of real-time distributed development.
  • OOA/OOD experience
Skills Desired
  • Knowledge or familiarity of FIX
  • FX product/business knowledge
  • Development experience within a front office/real time trading environment
  • Exchange/ECN connectivity
