FX eTrading UI Container Technical team Lead

ROLE:
Tech lead - Specialist in Java, eCommerce Framework

The eFX team is responsible for developing FX eTrading solutions for Credit Suisse globally including price generation and distribution ECN connectivity and directly client connectivity.

As part of the ongoing improvements to the eFX components a new eCommerce UI is being developed as a Java Swing application to be delivered to Credit Suisse clients internally and externally.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivery of the FX Components within the eCommerce UI including both FX Cash and Options. They will lead a team of approximately 9 developers within the wider eFX development team reporting to the senior eFX Lead but operating independently.

The person will ensure that the team delivers high quality code according to the design and architecture agreed in a cohesive manner with the rest of the team. The person will have a good understanding of what is required by fast paced front office development and be happy working under pressure while still holding themselves and their team to the highest standards of excellence. It is expected that the person will have a good understanding of systems end to end from development through deployment and support.

The person will be able to lead, motivate and operate independently taking overall responsibility for delivery of the end to end service to the business from inception, development through to day to day operation working hand in hand with the support team.

THE ROLE INVOLVES: 
  • Deliver code components and projects as part of the wider eFX & eCommerce Team. 
  • Work as part of global and diversified team to improve the development process for the delivery of services and products to the FX business. 
  • Contribute towards the technical direction of the platform by being involved in technical design and delivery of components and the overall system. 
  • Work hand in hand with the other eFX and non eFX development teams to deliver enhancements 
  • Coach and Mentor team members to improve development processes and deliverables 
  • Lead the team with respect to good development practice and methodology using appropriate tools from Agile and other development methodologies. 
  • Participate in all phases of software development lifecycle: specification, development, testing and deployment. 
  • Deliver well-commented, maintainable code to team standard, including unit and system tests. 
  • 3rd line technical support of the eCommerce system. 
  • Participate and produce required documentation for all phases of lifecycle: specification, development, testing and deployment. 
  • 2nd and 3rd line technical support of eFX system, including overnight and rota. 

DIVISION/DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
FID IT use a wide spectrum of technologies in the development of business solutions including languages such as C++, C#, .Net and Java; database technologies such as Oracle, Sybase and Microsoft SQL Server, and operating systems such as Microsoft Windows, UNIX and LINUX. There are positions in FID IT for a wide variety of skill sets from technical expertise in the technologies mentioned above, to Business Analysis positions requiring excellent written communication skills and strong fundamental business understanding.

This diversity creates lots of opportunity for internal movement, with teams in areas such as research, sales, mortgage products, bond trading, FX and Client Technology. TO QUALIFY YOU MUST POSSESS:

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:
Essential 

  • Development of Java electronic trading systems in FX 
  • 4+ Years Professional software development experience across entire software development lifecycle. 
  • Delivery of low latency trading systems 
  • Deep understanding of trade lifecycle of FX and/or other asset classes 
  • Deep Understanding of Investment Banking technology environment 
  • Understanding of development lifecycle and methodologies 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Documentation and documentation management

Desirable 
  • Windows development experience (.NET) 
  • Structured development background.
