GAT Europe Expansion – RAD/High Frequency Trading developer

Rapid Application Development working directly with the European Desk of the Arbitrage Strategies business.

The key tasks will be:
  • Development, support and maintenance of direct exchange price feeds, price feed services and algorithmic trading components for low latency, high frequency trading.
  • Development and support of static databases and supporting processes
  • Other development tasks as assigned, especially in the area of mid/high frequency trading applications

 

  • Delivery of RAD development tasks as required
  • Support key trading applications in a transparent and proactive manner
  • Support of desk-based trading applications as required
  • Prepared to start from 7.30am as a general policy, except as agreed with management
  • Occasional evening/weekend support requirements (normally, through remote access)
  • Strong OOP skills in C++ and strong Linux OS experience essential
  • Strong relational database skills (in order of preference: SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase) essential
  • Experience of front-office trading desk-aligned roles (min 2-4 years) essential
  • Knowledge of market data feed handlers and execution feeds essential.

 

  • OOP skill in C# and Windows OS experience highly desirable;
  • Knowledge of Index Arbitrage and algorithmic trading highly desirable

  • Java experience especially in performance tuning desirable
  • Knowledge of Equities and Futures asset classes highly desirable.
Successful and prolific RAD's, especially those with business knowledge can add to the business bottom line, which in turn can lead to rapid rise within the organization. In 1-2 years, a successful candidate may take over larger strategy responsibilities.
The roles reports to GAT IT, but works directly with the business.
