Global Operations and Infrastructure Software Asset Management Operations Manager

The IT&S Global Operations and Infrastructure (GOI) organization is accountable for the design, implementation and operation of BP’s core IT services and infrastructure, including data centres, common BP desktop, many IT-for-IT tools and other cross-business unit or centralised IT responsibilities.

GOI routinely operates in close co-operation with business unit IT organisations, Indirect Procurement and other BP entities and contracts with multiple managed services organisations to deliver parts of BP’s central day to day operational capability.

As part of its responsibilities GOI manages certain centralised volume licence agreements, and related support and maintenance and other volume contracts, though this has historically been performed in a decentralised manner.

The GOI SAM service has been deployed to address this responsibility centrally where this is beneficial. The service will provide a management information and decision support function to both BP Indirect Procurement and BP Finance in order to fulfil this obligation. It will prepare for contract renewals, respond to audit challenges and gather and manage the data required to prove BPs compliance status.

The GOI SAM Operations Manager is responsible for the SAM service’s day to running, effectiveness and efficiency, working closely with BP’s datacentre and desktop teams. A subset of SAM services will also be provided for the Segments R&M, IST, Functions & Enterprise Systems.

This role will initially be accountable for increasing the maturity of the service and on-boarding of target vendors/contracts/products, according to a structured process. Once the service is fully running the role will be accountable for minimising the cost and risk of in scope licensing contracts and representing BP to in scope major vendors in audit challenges.

Candidates are expected to be able to demonstrate:Leadership & development of the BP SAM retained team.
