The Enterprise Services Global Practice, part of the Mission Critical and Cloud Computing Strategy organization, is seeking a Global Solution Architect to advance our sales and delivery on Business and Mission Critical projects. This is a unique opportunity for a self-starter who possesses a mix of advanced Microsoft technology, pre-sales business development experience, and strategic business acumen. The ideal candidate will have both broad and deep technology expertise and the ability to architect core business solutions by mapping customer business problems to end-to-end technology solutions. Demonstrated ability to engage in senior level technology and business decision maker discussions related to agility, business value, and Microsoft technologies is a must.
Global Practice Architects are key enablers for local/regional Enterprise Services teams - a key goal is to improve the readiness of local/regional teams. They are engaged in critical pre-sales activities for the largest, most complex, and most strategic projects - and then assist/oversee delivery of those projects.
The Global Solutions Architect applies advanced analysis skills and experience in principals of application design to define appropriate customer solutions. To be credible he or she must have current and deep experience with implementing large core business applications on Microsoft application platforms. Understanding of competitive technology enables the Solutions Architect to properly assess feasibility of migrating customer solutions from, and/or integrating with customer solutions hosted on non-Microsoft platforms.
The Global Solutions Architect must be effective in fostering executive level relationships. Solutions Architects routinely act as subject matter experts, assisting Microsoft account teams, Services Sales Executives and Engagement Managers. Solutions Architects are able to deliver effective strategic presentations to audiences of all sizes and possess excellent communication skills. They maintain extensive product group relationships and drive technical readiness for solutions with product certifications and specific ISV packaged solutions expertise as needed.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience. This role requires relevant working experience including expertise in enterprise architecture as well as application deployment and/or distributed system implementation. Qualifications include hands-on experience with multi-phase, global, enterprise-wide core business application implementation with focus on presales/business development as well as engagement delivery. Desirable technical experience includes hands-on experience in several of the following products or technologies: Dynamics, .NET, SQL Server, BizTalk. Frequent travel (up to 75%) is an integral part of this job, as are high levels of recognition and visibility.
