The BBC is looking for a Test Engineer to join BBC Core Services, to write and execute automated tests.
You'll be devising effective approaches to automating the test process of complex back-end systems, primarily focussed on integrating acceptance tests, while helping to ensure requirements have clear and concise acceptance criteria, and in turn, clear and concise test results.
Part of BBC Future Media, the Core Services group is the 'engine room' providing shared platforms and services which power BBC Online’s products.
This is a very demanding time for the BBC with up coming projects. As such we would like to a certain pedigree coming through from your CV, and here's what you'll need to highlight to be considered:
• Excellent Ruby skills
• Experience of automating acceptance tests
• Experience of working collaboratively to write acceptance criteria/specifications
• Experience of working with an automated test framework (preferably Cucumber)
• Ability to automate service layer tests, (e.g.RESTful API XML/JSON)
• Experience of testing in an Agile development environment
• Experience of de-bugging tools and analysing stack traces
• Experience of working with Continuous Integration Server (preferably Hudson)
• Experience of testing web applications, including the ability to use and understand advanced features of web browsers
2012 will mean all eyes on BBC’s digital services for our coverage of The Olympics, European Championships and Wimbledon to name a few. As such this will be a very rewarding time to be part of the BBC and will be an impressive addition to any Tester’s CV.
