IT Purchasing Internship

Summary
  • Situated in the Purchasing Department, taking an active role in providing support to the Purchasing Manager, Asset Manager and Purchasing Administrator.
  • In addition to involvement in day to day support, the Trainee will be involved in administrative mini project work.
  • Previous project work has included stock room rotation, implementation of new purchase order databases and purchasing procedures
  • Appropriate time and training will be supplied where necessary.

Mission
  • Taking an active role in providing support to the Purchasing Team
  • Ensuring Service Level Agreements for delivery of all IT items
  • Ensuring that, in addition to providing a day to day support service, we constantly improve processes and look to take a proactive attitude to the resolution of problems.

Main Areas of Responsibility
  • To provide a full audit of all stock rooms and assigned stock areas providing and maintaining the stock control system.
  • Feeding back relevant Asset details to the Asset Manager
  • To organise ITEC software
  • To help the hardware engineer with the disposal of equipment
  • To help with the raising of purchase orders
  • To perform Call Management duties every morning and respond to User/ITEC Support requests
  • To chase Peoplesoft signatories for sign off
  • Creation of procedural documentation.
  • Completion of assigned project work.

  • Day to day support.
  • Project work as specified by ITEC management.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education
  • A Minimum of 5 GSCES

Languages

  • Fluent English
  • Other language skills are not required in this position

Technical skills
  • A keen, self-driven interest in computing and a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and MS Office
