The Europe IT Support team (or ‘TechOps’ as we’re known) provides exceptional support across the business and we are looking for a passionate support specialist to join us in London. As ThoughtWorks is a forward thinking IT consultancy, you will be working with cutting edge technologies across Window, Linux and Mac. Every day brings new challenges and there is lots of variety in the role as we are constantly looking to evolve and improve our IT infrastructure. This is a customer-facing role, working directly with our consultants, most of whom are working remotely. Therefore we are seeking a proactive and responsive individual with a 'can-do attitude' and exceptional people skills.
Ideally you will have 2nd line support experience, or similar, and be able to demonstrate your passion for technology. In addition we are seeking the following technical skills:
•Windows 7
•Office 2010
•Mac OS X (Snow Leopard, Lion, server)
•Basic understanding of deploying images
•Security, ie: understanding elevation (not running as root/admin), password complexity, permissions
•VOIP and IP telephony any experience
•Hardware troubleshooting
•Network troubleshooting
•Experience with Cisco/Extreme/3Com/Linksys (any will do) L2/L3 switches
•Experience with wireless access points/extenders/controllers
•Symantec Antivirus troubleshooting, removing viruses
•Patch cable management, server racking, cabling in general
•Backup Exec (+tape loader)
•Basic scripting would be beneficial
•3rd party supply experience
