An innovative and forward thinking IT Solutions company is looking for a MCSE (2003) qualified Windows Engineer with at least 3 years of professional experience working in a 2nd line or above capacity, to join their expanding team. The role will involve coordinating with clients and providers to assist in the design, implementation and integration of appropriate systems architecture. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the strengthening of the technical team by sharing knowledge and information.
Key technical requirements:
- Ability to create and maintain infrastructure architecture and plans.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Server 2003 and 2008 operating systems, IIS, Group Policy, MS SQL 2005 and 2008, and web hosting.
- Strong working knowledge of x86 and x64 based server installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, and load-balancing.
- Good understanding of storage systems, backup and recovery systems, and business continuity.
- Good working knowledge of systems management, performance tuning and monitoring tools.
- Good understanding and commercial experience of virtualisation concepts (VMware and Microsoft).
- Creativity in approach to new challenges and both technological and organizational. Demonstrated interest in learning and in acquiring new skills in fast changing environment, have and open mind and be receptive to challenge.
To succeed in this role, strong communication skills, both orally and writing, coupled with the ability to produce documentation and reports is key. The role is demanding and will require you to effectively support many systems and clients, be flexible and work under a complex and changing environment.
