This role is for an IP Transport / network specialist to join the Design team within EMEA Service Delivery. The team is primarily responsible for producing designs for new deployments in the EMEA region and supporting the implementation of complex designs and pilots.
You will also be expected to act as a a technical leader within the EMEA region and to represent the department globally, liaising with Engineering and Architecture teams to influence technical strategies. As a senior technical expert, you will frequently be called upon to support senior management and business groups in a consultative capacity and to provide technical leadership and training to other teams.
You will be able to provide third level support if called upon to do so and demonstrate the leadership to take control if the occasion demands.
Requirements
Experience in an equivalent role in a major Investment Bank / Financial insitution and experience of working in client facing environments is essential.
CCIE or equivalent technical experience.
Experience of Market Data and Exchange Connectivity models and associated security models.
Strong understanding of wide variety of networking technologies, including Switches, Routers, Firewalls, VoIP / IP Telephony, Load Balancers, Proxies, WAN / MAN / MPLS. Ability to apply this knowledge to both design, implementation and act as a subject matter expert where appropriate.
Expert knowledge in Cisco hardware platforms (Catalyst 6500 and major router models) and the configuration of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, PIM), Multicast, IPSec VPNs, QoS. Knowledge of Cisco VoIP (QSIG, TCCS) and DWDM (Adva / Nortel) and Netscreen Firewalls would be advantageous.
Must be a highly motivated individual who can work in a structured team environment and exhibit strong persuasion and influencing skills.
Clear and confidant communicator who can explain complex technical subjects to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to work in global teams, taking ownership of initiatives and adding value through to their completion.
