Online Principal Producer Lead

Role Summary
Our new production department at Vodafone needs an experienced Principal Producer to lead our online production capability.
As our Online Principal Producer Lead, you’ll be responsible for the day to day operational relationship with our strategic creative suppliers, ensuring delivery of world class web production capability & user experience across all change activity to both our internet & intranet web domains.
From design to launch, you’ll define and develop our online production process and drive our production team partners, ensuring successful delivery of projects.
Ideally from a digital agency or broadcast background, you’ll be proven at understanding audiences, defining user and brand experiences, analysing and understanding business and technical requirements.
It would be great if you also had current or previous budget management experience.

Essence of Role 
  • Accountable for day to day operation of the production teams/resources 
  • Management of the cross platform production schedule to time, budget & quality in line with stakeholder expectations including BAU activity, campaigns & projects. 
  • Be the interface to the brand & marcomms teams to ensuring early engagement with production 
  • Manage budget position across supplier relationships 
  • Key engagement with the user experience team to drive consistent best in class delivery for our customers 
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholder groups across Transformation & Online as well as other business units 
  • Ensure the quality of all partner resources incl. Producers, Interactive Architects, Designers, Developers, Content Editors is to the required standard 
  • Work with partners & key business representatives to drive operational efficiencies across processes, onshore/offshore activity & methods of working. 
  • You will work with creative teams to drive effective creative concepts to ensure they are managed to completion 
  • Partner with other teams & suppliers to ensure maximum performance 
  • Maintain awareness of the current industry environment that shapes opportunities for client solutions (i.e. news events, trends, mergers, etc.)

Role Dimension
Financial 
  • Responsible for budget management & forecasting across the both BAU production teams & Agile Sprint teams 
  • Driving tangible cost efficiencies with our strategic creative partners to ensure efficiencies
Non financial (customers / staff etc) 
  • Direct management of partner/supplier production teams 
  • Key interface to key stakeholder communities for all production activity 
  • Month on month increases in production throughput

Typical Outputs 
  • Progressively increasing volume of change to screen 
  • Continuous improvement plans across all production activity 
  • Regular partner reviews with clear actions plans for resolution of any issues 
  • Team member performance reviews 
  • Ongoing recommendations on sourcing options/opportunities 
  • Identification of ongoing user experience improvement opportunities

Technical/Professional Expertise
ESSENTIAL 

  • Solid experience in a senior digital production role 
  • Deep understanding of the digital production process 
  • Good understanding of all structural aspects of creating websites & functionality, such as HTML, CSS Javascript, writing & editing web content, with experience of Content Management Systems, browsers & test scenarios, understanding of how to tailor websites for different audiences (B2B or B2C), Integrating front end websites with back office systems & databases 
  • Significant supplier management experience with primary accountability for peer-level agency relationships at a senior level 
  • Strong knowledge of software development life cycles, web technologies, web development, & the delivery of solutions with creative & engineering components, including Agile methodologies 
  • Must be organised & able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
DESIRABLE 
  • Experience of working in both agency & client environments 
  • Strong project management experience including team leadership & management of large, complex & cross functional interactive projects 
  • Understanding of the latest technologies (3D motion, flash, video) with a passion for the digital world & advertising 
  • Strong facilitation as well as excellent verbal & written communication skills 
  • Proven mentoring, supervisory, & team-building skills 
  • Substantial experience in influencing at all levels 
  • Ability to quickly assimilate knowledge from outside own area of expertise.
