Oracle Technical Architecture Consultant

We are looking for specialists in Oracle technologies and general technologists interested in Oracle architecture specialisation for positions ranging from Analyst to Consultant.

As a part of the wider Systems Integration Oracle practice, our Oracle Technical Architecture professionals work across industries to design, implement and deploy system architectures that support Oracle-based solutions.  We work across integration and technical architecture, and use our experience and expertise to help clients use Oracle technologies.  Our team members have a wide range of hardware and software infrastructure skills, and have opportunities to grow and learn with the expanding Oracle technology stack.

Key responsibilities may include:
•    Work across all areas of architecture (development, execution and operations architecture) and through the full software development lifecycle.
•    Work with the technical and development teams (client and Accenture) to understand business requirements and design architecture solutions.
•    Document architecture solutions using standard Accenture tools
•    Participate in the design, configuration, implementation and testing of Oracle system architectures (Oracle RDBMS and ERP systems, middleware and Business Intelligence technologies)
•    Help troubleshoot architecture-related incidents and problems in both non-Production and Production environments. Build and utilise expertise in general architecture and some Oracle-related specialties such as database tuning, backup and recovery support, installation of Oracle software and configuration, applying patches, shell scripting, partitioning of tables and indexes, partition maintenances, archiving of data, capacity planning, complex security architectures or basic UNIX administration skills.
•    Build and apply technical, industry, and functional knowledge to support efforts.
•    Provide input on planned architecture enhancements, changes, and fixes to platforms.
•    Identify and implement opportunities for improvements to methods/procedures/tools/services used in project architectures.

What we're looking for
You will have experience of working on a technical architecture delivery in a team environment, delivering to tight timescales where you have experienced most phases of the project lifecycle and gained a solid understanding of project management methodologies.  You will have an interest in Oracle technologies, working with clients and developing their use of the Oracle toolset.  General technical architecture skills and experience is required, including:
•    Experience in the design and implementation of development, execution or operations architectures solutions, including areas such as software configuration management, reporting, interfaces, batch scheduling, monitoring, output  management, etc.
•    Knowledge and experience of Unix, Linux and/or Java/J2EE

And at least two of the following:
•    Basic DBA skills (i.e. SQL, security, tables/indexes, PL/SQL stored programs)
•    Experience of Oracle RDBMS 9i/10g/11g and familiarity with Oracle database architecture (memory structures like SGA and Shared Pool, processes, data files).
•    Experience in Performance tuning, including Oracle server tuning and application tuning (trace files, explain plans, use of indexes, sizing memory structures, memory/latch contention, I/O contention)
•    Knowledge and experience of Oracle Developer Tools such as JDeveloper, Designer, and Forms Developer
•    Technical / development experience of an Oracle ERP (E-Business Suite, Siebel, Peoplesoft, JDEdwards)
•    Experience of Oracle 11i/12 Applications DBA
•    High Availability and Business Continuity (Oracle RAC, Dataguard, Disaster Recovery, clustering, etc.)
•    Designing and implementing hardware infrastructure solutions; understanding platforms and features (Sun Solaris, IBM AIX, etc.)
•    Storage Technologies (SAN/NAS)
•    Network infrastructure design
•    Server virtualization and partitioning, storage virtualization
•    Infrastructure Security (SSO, PKI, etc.)
•    EAI/Integration technologies
•    Data warehousing
•    Enterprise Content Management

Qualifications
What other qualifications or skills do I need?
•    2:1 Bachelors Degree (or international equivalent) and/or experience within a relevant consultancy/industry
•    Preferably a consulting background and experience of technical architecture implementation project lifecycles
•    Strong team player (proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment) and team leadership potential
•    Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
•    Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
•    All candidates will be London based, but you must be willing to offer full mobility
