This role sits within the ThoughtWorks Europe People team and will be responsible for administration of Payroll and Benefits for all our people in Europe in a proactive, accurate and timely manner.
The role reports to the Head of Professional Services in Europe.
As a part of the People team, you will be a champion for diversity within ThoughtWorks and the wider world of Technology. You (with the support and participation of the People Team) will be responsible for creating a positive work environment, on local projects and in the office and you will take responsibility for supporting, advocating and organizing community building activities to ensure there is a distinct community feeling in ThoughtWorks Europe.
Responsibilities:Payroll – generate, check and submit payroll on a monthly basis. Ensure all ThoughtWorkers know how to access their payslips and update them and PeopleSoft on any changes. Ensure any required adjustments for sickness, maternity, GAYE, Childcare vouchers are reflected in payroll.
Tax and National Insurance – Ensure the timely and accurately distribution of all tax information, reporting and calculations including P45, P46’s,
P1 1D’s and P60’s
Expat Payroll – Work with Grant Thornton and internal departments to ensure all salary, administration and tax issues are managed and checked on a regular basis.
Germany Payroll – Work with Finance and outsourcing agency to ensure that the Germany based ThoughtWorkers receive an efficient payroll service.
Benefits Programmes – responsible for all the administration and yearly reviews of the following benefits programmes. This includes adding new starters, deleting leavers, renewals and any changes or additions to the programmes. You will develop good relationships with the brokers(where applicable) of each of the programmes.

General People queries and system updates – (PeopleSoft) you will be responsible for administering changes to salary, benefits, promotions, reference requests from our PeopleSoft System.
Producing ad hoc payroll reports and supporting regular salary reviews
Explaining the payroll and benefits for all new hires and transferees to ThoughtWorks Europe
Employee Reference Guide - responsible for ensuring this guide accurately reflects the current benefits programme and regularly review and adapt this to reflect any changes.
Annual Leave – you will work with the Head of Profession Services to ensure all annual leave is calculated and taken in a proactive and planned way according to ThoughtWorks Europe approach.
General payroll and benefit related projects – from time to time, you will be asked to undertake additional projects related to our Pay and Benefits programmes.
Ideally you will have the following experience and attributes:Minimum of 3 years experience running payroll for a similar sized organization – across UK and Europe.
Experience of working with an outsource payroll provider
Excellent data management skills - strong Excel and database management skills
Some experience in Finance or Benefits would be helpful
Experience of managing ex pat tax and salary issues
Experience of re-brokering insurance and other benefits.
