Prime Services Regional Lead & Program Manager

IT Investment Banking is currently looking for a Prime Services Regional Lead & Program Manager to join the team in London

ROLE SUMMARY:
Regional Head of Prime Services Securities Lending Technology, reporting to the Global Head of Securities / Managed Lending and Inventory (NY). The candidate will be responsible for managing the Securities Lending IT team of approx 30 persons in London. The team consists of Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers and Testers who delivery Global Securities Lending trading systems to Asia, EMEA and US front office trading and operations clients.

THE ROLE INVOLVES:
- Responsible for the Client relationship management of the trading desk heads, operations, product control and business development users globally.
- Ownership of the International trading systems based in London (ICS, GSL, Analytics Platform and Global One). Accountable for all development, audit, SOX compliance, capacity / performance planning, infrastructure and 2nd line support of these applications.
- Program management, development and testing of strategic securities lending trading projects and development of the ongoing Securities Lending Trading platform.
- Drive the technical direction, strategic architecture, development standards and best practices for the global securities lending technology organisation
- Manage all aspects of Vendor engagements - Sungard, Headstrong and Wipro.
- Human capital management, responsible for career development, training and performance / objective setting for London employees.
- Responsible for resource planning, project scheduling and budget planning for London resources.
- Engage with offshore manager to define and implement offshore resourcing model for London (Singapore, Raleigh and India).
- Define, plan, build and drive the phased implementation of the new Securities Lending Trading platform.
- Retire the existing ICS trading platform and drive the definition of the Global One replacement strategy.
- Build Strong relationships with Front Office, Operations and Business Development clients.
- Ensure compliance with all regional Audit points.
- Provide technical and people leadership to the SL development team: championing good practice and techniques; contributing to improve the team’s technical & delivery capability.
- Work closely with other development leads globally and outsourced development resources to create an effective team culture with strong delivery ethic.
- Implement appropriate controls to ensure a high quality development processes.
- Ensure that all development is performed in concordance with the Firm’s Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC+ / GSDP) standards.

Additional duties and responsibilities:
- Show ability to be an effective team member working closely with colleagues from multiple teams and disciplines, bringing added value to the team.
- Show understanding of good project planning practices and team management processes
- Driver of organisational change & transformation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication

TO QUALIFY YOU MUST POSSESS:
- In depth Securities Lending product, business and systems knowledge with broad understanding of Prime Services business.
- At least 10 year’s hands on development management experience with at least 5 at a leadership level.
- Experience and proven track record of managing complex relationships with global trading desks.
- Significant technical leadership experience and record of managing teams > 20 persons.
- Strong development skills and awareness of industry standard techniques & practices.
- The candidate should have good understanding of OO and SOA development techniques.
- Large scale project delivery experience - preferably of a Global Trading application with in depth involvement in technical design and systems architecture.
- Software change management control
- Ability to work in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines.
- Team player, flexible, self-motivated, articulate and methodical.
- Experience with working with global teams, matrix management and managing resources across regions.
- Numerate degree
