This position designs, configures, installs, commissions, and supports regulatory control systems. It also supports programs such as inferred property calculations and online unit optimizers. This position closely supports instrumentation and control upgrade projects and is responsible for development of practical, cost effective process control designs for both asset enhancements and additions. This position assists in the development of plans to upgrade and develop the plant DCS and ensures that all applicable drawings and documentation covering those modifications are updated in a timely fashion. It also estimates project benefits, creates process designs, ensures involvement of appropriate design experts, ensures timely updating of all required documentation, and provides all necessary training for new control system designs. The position provides process control design support as necessary to the Projects and Manufacturing teams.
B.S. in Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred. Candidates with other degrees who have demonstrated strong process control skills may also be considered.
Minimum of 8 years experience required working as a process control engineer in chemical plant, refinery, or similar industry. The candidate should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and possess the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Good interpersonal skills and a high degree of work organization are expected.
