Product & Services Strategy Manager

IT&S Global Operations and Infrastructures (GOI) plays the critical role of delivering cost-effective world-class infrastructure services that the BP businesses can rely upon in support of their own performance. Our specific accountabilities include the delivery of services to specified target levels measured primarily in terms of availability, recoverability and cost to the corporation. These services must also be delivered safely and secured against the growing external security threats.

GOI Global Network Services (GNS) creates strategy, determines corporate needs and then manages global suppliers to deliver and operate critical networking and telecommunications services to more than 700 BP locations worldwide including wide area network connectivity, traditional and IP based voice services, Internet access, remote access, audio and video conferencing, wireless network infrastructure, third party connectivity and firewalls.

The role of the Product & Service Strategy Manager is to create the service vision, set service direction to ensure fit with overall BP strategy, and determine product development strategies meet current & future business needs and are benchmarked against best in class.

Qualifications:
Experience 
  • Successful experience creating innovative strategies for managing and developing IT services for complex global organisations, with c80,000 users 
  • Significant experience of designing and monitoring infrastructure on a Global scale, including voice, data and all associated support technologies 
  • Experience in managing a Global team 
  • Ability to engage and work effectively at an executive level across large corporate IT organizations of similar scale 
  • Demonstrable experience of initiating business cases for significant investment projects to improve and evolve IT infrastructure 
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to communicate technically complex issues in a business context 
  • The ability to influence BP and vendor executives at VP/GVP level 
  • The ability to create strategy combined with focus on detail for daily operations 
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines in a sometimes ambiguous environment
